Money Matters for Moms

Lansing, MI (PRWEB) June 29, 2007 -- Despite significant gains in earning power and the lifting of the glass ceiling, women still lag behind men in financial finesse and fitness and a mother more than anyone else is more likely to put the needs of others before their own. They often spend their disposable income on children and grandchildren when they should be focusing a good portion of this cash on retirement planning.

Five self-described "real life moms" have launched an online radio show to address the issues that cause mothers and women in general to lag behind financially. Mom's Money (http://www.momsmoney.com) is a weekly show jointly hosted by five friends: Kelly McCausey, Carrie Lauth, Tishia Lee, Jennifer Gniadecki and Sarah Zeldman.

"Women react to financial issues differently than men and don't want to just hear from experts," explains co-host Kelly McCausey, "they want to hear real life solutions to the issues they face not ivy tower theories. Mom's Money is about bridging the gap and helping women put important financial information into perspective and into use."

Each of the co-hosts comes from a different financial perspective from single and struggling to married with money to invest and variations which were revealed in the first episode that launched on June 18th. The second show with host Carrie Lauth and expert guest Financial Coach Pat del Rey gets to the meat of the matter on why financial education is especially important to women.

"Pat del Rey is typical of the guests that have been chosen for Mom's Money," says Lauth, "in that she discusses the issues and challenges facing women in the field of finance and provides clear solutions that can be applied by listeners."

Episodes are released each Monday and are available in podcast form that is easy to download to a computers or mp3 player. Archives of previous episodes remain freely accessible online so that moms can find the information when they need it.
